A Marriage Made in Heaven
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3-4 (NKJV)
There are things in our lives that are truly marriages made in heaven. In Isaiah 26:3-4 a marriage takes place…peace is the groom and trust is the bride. Without the two there can be no marriage.
We do not receive peace in our lives by thinking about peace, we receive peace by trusting in God…a heavenly union takes place only when trust is joined to peace. It is this union that brings our thought life into harmony with God’s will.
Peace comes from God, trust comes from us. God’s peace is not partial peace but perfect (complete) peace, and our trust in the Lord needs to be complete.
If this marriage is to be yours, here are the marriage vows that will be exchanged…the Lord says “I WILL give you My peace” and you reply, “I DO put my trust in You.”…and in this union you will live happily, and peacefully, ever after!
“A human life, in its natural course, must face ever-changing problems, and often they are or seem baffling. Must one, then, yield to doubts and fears? Or, may life be free from anxiety (Matthew 6:34). May one’s life move on with persistent steadfastness (I Corinthians 15:58) yet with peace like a river (Isaiah 66:12)—a river whose surface is ruffled by boisterous winds but whose whole volume moves quietly, calmly, but ever onward toward its ocean home? By grace such a peace may be ours whose mind is stayed on God, our Father in heaven. Who loves as only a heavenly Father can love.”—Rev. Frank P. Manhart
