in the fieldThis past Thursday night I preached on Preparing Our Soil for Planting at Acts 2:42 The Dalles. It was taken from the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13 as well as in Mark and Luke. I brought out my belief that we are each responsible for the condition of our own soil. And as I looked beneath the surface of that parable, I believe that the four soil types expounded on by our Lord could be looked at as stages of our maturity in sanctification. If that is true, then even the soil by the wayside, which represents a hard heart that has no time for the message of the Gospel can, at some point, progress to at least a thirty fold harvest.
