Praying Through Psalms 18

Image result for Psalm 18Father, in the Name of Jesus, we come to bless Your Holy Name, for You alone are our strength, our fortress, and an ever-present help in times of trouble. Father, in You and You alone, will we place our trust for You are our place of refuge where we can and will abide in peace because You are the strength and life of our salvation.

You are worthy to be praise, O Lord because it is You who came to save us from our enemies. It was only through You that the enemies of the cross were defeated at Calvary all those generation ago. Thank You Lord that You are our ark of safety who hides us in the cleft of the Rock and when our enemies come at us one way, You, Father, will cause them to flee seven different ways.

Father, we thank You for being our Reward and the Recompense on our behalf according to our righteousness which is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, that You will show Yourself merciful, blameless and pure before those who show those very same attributes towards others.

However, to the devious, You will show Yourself as being shrewder than what they are and to those who are haughty in appearance you will not look upon their ways, instead, You will cause them to be humbled.

Father, we thank You that You will lighten our lamp, and lighten our path according to Your Word. Father, it is only by Your Almighty power that we are able to run against a troop or leap over a wall in times of trouble. Thank You, Father, that You are perfect in Your ways and Your Word is proven to be true in all that You would have it to do.

Father, we thank You for Jesus who is the Rock of our Salvation. Thank You, Father, for giving us feet like hinds feet that we may run, skip and jump over the ragged and rugged terrain as we make our way up the mountain places.

Father, we thank You for setting our feet in a safe landing place and that You teach our hands to make war and for strengthening our arms to bend a bow of bronze.

Thank You, Father, for giving us Jesus who is the Shield of our Salvation and that at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Thank You, Father, that You hold us up by Your hands and in Your gentleness (Your peace), that You promote us into the people You desire us to be.

Thank You, Father, that the battle is the Lord’s and You supply our armor according to Your Word and the by the Fruit of Your Spirit (See Galatians 5:22-23 with Ephesians 6:10-26). Thank You, Father, that indeed it is not by might nor by power but by Your Spirit alone is where we gain our strength and fortitude to press forward in this battle.

Father, we thank You that Your Kingdom will come and Your will, will be done in every nation, tribe and tongue upon the face of this earth, for the time is quickly coming when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess to the Lordship of Jesus Christ for Your eternal glory.

Thank You, Father, that You are alive and well and that You reign in the heavens and in the end all will be well with our souls. Thank You, Father, that You shall raise us up as Your people to where You need us to be.

Thank You, Father, that we and our descendants have a Living Hope for our futures because we have placed our trust in You to save us and our households according to Your Living Promise found in Acts 16:31 (“We and our households shall be saved”).

Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus the Christ who is Your One and Only Begotten Son into this world to save us as humankind who are created in Your image and likeness from a fate that is worse than death itself which is to be separated from You for all eternity, in Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
