As lawlessness and gross darkness covers the earth, Satan has a seat of authority as his cohorts take advantage of the situation through government and religious leaders throughout the nations of the world! But how can this be since the “earth is the Lord’s, the world and everything in it is owned by Him (Psalms 24:1-2)?
Reminder: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” Earth is the planet where, we as humankind, were given dominion over all created things that existed upon the earth. Therefore, the earth is a place, and the world does not refer to a globe or planet but refers to people who are a race of humans created in the image and likeness of their Creator.
Remember: In John 3:16 it is written that “God so loved the world … ” not the earth. So, what happened that Satan can now proclaim that he is the god of this world, especially after Jesus saw him thrown out of heaven like a lightning bolt (See Luke 10:18).
Let’s be like the Bereans and see why these things are so. Please turn to your bibles with me and take a look at Ezekiel 34:1-10 which contains a warning and 2 Timothy 2:22-26; 3:1-9.
For an excellent study read Revelation Chapters 2-3 concerning the Loveless Church, The Persecuted Church, The Compromising Church, The Corrupt Church, The Dead Church, The Faithful Church, and the Lukewarm Church where Christ warns and promises a reward to all who would return to their “first love.”
But because humankind has hardened their hearts by refusing to heed the Voice of the Spirit beckoning them to return back to God through Jesus Christ while He affords them the time to do so, the outcome as a result of their rebellion and prideful hearts is found in Revelation 6:1-8.
The Voice of the Lord (His Word) will speak for itself:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the LordGod to the shepherds: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock.
4 The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them.
5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd; and they became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them.”
7 ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock”— 9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the Lord!
10 Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.”
2 Timothy 2:22-26
22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
2 Timothy 3:1-9
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
The Four Seals and the role of the Four Horsemen as found in Revelation 6:1-8
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”
When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
Saints, we need to be praying like never before … Selah!
