Let Us Wake Up and Smell the Rose of Sharon …

imagesAre we, like a Snow White, who was placed under a spell until she was kissed by a prince charming who came to break that spell which was the only way she would wake up.

Now, bear in mind that no matter who this prince was, or no matter where he came from or no matter what he looked like, he was to be her prince charming.

Rich or poor, handsome or not appealing, strong or lanky, no matter his circumstance, Snow White would have no choice but to become his lovely wife.

Remember, Satan too comes as an angel of light to seduce and to deceive anyone he can place under a spell (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Are we in need of a kiss from our Prince to wake us up from under a spell that prevents us smelling the sweet aroma of who He is to us.

Following is some information on the Rose of Sharon and who He is to us:

The word “Sharon” means a level place or plain. It is a term describing one of the largest valley plains in Israel.

It is located in the low coastal plain stretching south from Mt. Carmel to Joppa. It was about fifty miles long and nine miles wide.

The Plain of Sharon is renowned for its majesty and beauty. It is carpeted with beautiful wild flowers.

These flowers remind us of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. Awesome Pauline

Immediately I started singing a song to myself that our choir sings sometimes; Daystar. Here is the opening verse and you will see why that happened. Thanks for this.

    Lily of the Valley,
Let Your sweet aroma fill my life.
    Rose of Sharon, show me
How to grow in beauty in God’s sight.
    Fairest of ten thousand,
Make me a reflection of Your light.
    Daystar, shine down on me,
Let Your love shine through me in the night.
