There Is Only One True Gospel | Heirs of Redemption | Part 4, 5, 6 / 6

Father, we thank You, for the completed work at the Cross which Jesus accomplished through His blood atonement on our behalf. We thank You, Father, that we have been redeemed and now have become heirs of salvation through the Redemptive Work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If it was not You, O Lord, for being on our side, where would we be, and let the Redeemed of the Lord say so! in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The Isaiah 53:5 Project

imagesFather, we praise You, we glorify and we and bless Your Holy Name. Father, we thank You, for sending Jesus to redeem us through His blood atonement on our behalf thereby granting us the right to become Your sons and daughters whereby we by Your Spirit may cry out “Abba Father.”

Father, we thank You, for the golden opportunity to becomes heirs together by Your grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Father, we thank You, for accepting us as members of Your family, through the sacrifice of Christ who was willing to forsake all for Your cause which was and still is the call for Your prodigal sons and daughters to return home to You.

Jesus, we thank You, for choosing to obey the will of Your Father right up to the point of death for our sakes. We thank You, Jesus, for hanging there on that cross on the…

When Words Fail

Romans 8:26–27

Beads of perspiration form on your brow, your heart flutters, your mind swims. An endless loop replays in your head: the scathing, screaming argument with your mother; the prognosis from the doctor; a schedule so full you can’t calm your thoughts enough to fall asleep at night.

You’ve probably been there at some point in your life: You rush before God like an eager child bursting into a room full of toys only to find that you have no idea how to begin to pray. You don’t know if you should be asking for guidance, protection or forgiveness—or all of the above. And what about how to order your list? And should you say special words? How does this prayer thing work?

Maybe you’ve finally got a minute to yourself, so you grab your Bible, look up to the ceiling and think, Now what? That list you’ve been building in your mind goes blank. The phone rings. The kids cry. The TV blares from another room. The dog barks. Anything—and everything—interrupts the moment. Help! How do you pray when words fail?

Enter the Holy Spirit. He perceives our heart’s agony and comforts us in our weakness. He knows our spiritual battle often burns hottest when we fight within ourselves. We wrestle with how to prioritize our prayers. We struggle with imposing our human agendas on a holy God. We cross our arms, grit our teeth and mentally stomp our feet when things don’t turn out as we desperately prayed they would. Life’s frustrations can mute us spiritually: “We do not know what we ought to pray for” (verse 26). But God does not stop hearing us when we’re dumbstruck before him. Both in silence and when our words flow in a jumbled torrent, the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf to the Father. He does know what to pray for.

The next time your spirit groans with a weight heavier than you can bear, trust that even when you might not be able to find words to pray, God clearly hears your cries through the intervention of the Holy Spirit. He knows your heart, your thoughts and your greatest needs better than you do yourself. Though your words may fail, your intercessor will never fail you

  1. Describe your prayer life. Do you struggle with it or does it flow naturally? Is it structured or hit-and-miss?
  2. Have you ever been at a loss for words during a time of prayer? How did the Holy Spirit intercede on your behalf? (For example: in song, in tears or in inexpressible ways.)
  3. Examine your heart. What things in your life have you been unable to express to God? Now, let the Holy Spirit lift these struggles from you and carry them before the Father.

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

A Prisoner of Love

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you…”

To be the prisoner of the Lord means that we accept the sentence of death and are resigned to our fate. We are not the Lord’s prisoner if we are still protesting our innocence. If we do not agree with the Lord that Self is worthy of death then we unnecessarily delay the inevitable.

If we must take up the Cross and be crucified, it is better to submit ourselves to it as Christ did, giving up our spirit into the Father’s hands, and bowing our head in peace. So let us drink the Cup that the Father gives us. If we struggle and protest, like the two thieves, then we only prolong our agony, and the soldiers must come and break our legs. Either way, the Cross means death. The sooner we surrender to it, the sooner we find Resurrection.

The Excellence of Wisdom | Proverbs / Part 8 and Part 9 / 9

imagesFather, we thank You, for all the words of wisdom are spoken in righteousness as nothing crooked or perverse is in them. Wisdom speaks plainly to those who understand and right to those who find knowledge.

Father, Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding are more precious than silver or gold, for wisdom is of more value than rubies and all the things one may desire cannot be compared to them.

Lord, we thank You, that wisdom dwells with prudence and finds knowledge with discretion, for the fear of the Lord is to hate evil.

Counsel and sound wisdom belongs to You, O Lord, for You are our understanding and Your grace is made perfect in our weakness, for by You, O Lord, kings will reign, rulers will decree justice, princes along with the nobles will rule and the judges judge on the earth.

Father, thank You that wisdom loves those who seek diligently for wisdom will find her waiting at their doorposts.

Father, we thank You, that riches and honor come with wisdom, her fruit is much better than fine gold and more valuable than the choicest silver.

Thank You, Father, that Your wisdom traverses the way or righteousness in the midst of the paths of justice, so that she may cause those who love her to inherit wealth for their treasuries.

Father, thank You, that wisdom was established in the heavens before the foundations of the earth and all that was created upon the earth was made. And before You drew the circle on the earth, O God, wisdom was there.

Father, help us to listen carefully to wisdom, for those who keep her ways are blessed. Thank You, Father, for the blessing of Your wisdom for those who watch daily at her gates.

Thank You, Lord, that whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from You. Father, we thank You, for Your instruction whereby as Your children we will be made wiser.

And, thank You, Father, that when a just man is teachable that he will increase in knowledge that he may learn thereby.

Father we thank You, that the reverential fear of You is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of You who are helps us to understand and to see with more clarity Your ways.

And thank You, Father, that it is by wisdom our days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added unto us for Your eternal glory we pray, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
